Check maps before travelling
A downloaded map is useful only if it covers the whole journey.
Save maps for your home area, destination and alternate route while connected. Check the date, coverage and app needed to open them.
Open the map with Wi-Fi and mobile data off, zoom to several points and find your route. Keep a paper backup for essential travel.
Confirm current closures and official directions whenever communications are available. An offline map cannot show a new hazard.
