Keep a sanitation plan

Plan for hand hygiene and waste when normal services are interrupted.

Original Prepper editorial · Content review: 2026-09-22 · Saved references are not live alerts.

  1. List soap, hand-cleaning supplies, bags and other hygiene items your household normally needs, including infant or accessibility supplies.

  2. Decide where clean supplies and waste supplies will be kept apart. Follow local health and waste instructions if water or sewer service is disrupted.

  3. Recheck the plan after a move or equipment change; sanitation arrangements depend on the home and local services.
